Bo Can Meeting

Bolinas, Please attend this coming BoCAN meeting at the Community Center Sunday Sept. 25th at 4pm.

This meeting will be a little longer than usual because we have a lot of good updates for you and we will be joined by our two candidates for county supervisor!
Seeing as this very important local election is just around the corner this will be an opportunity for both Dennis Rodoni and Dominic Grossi to hear about the current issues in Bolinas and to introduce themselves to the community.
Please come listen to progress being made by and for our community as well as community expression and to get to know the candidates, and each other!!
We will be supplying some small snacks coffee, tea and water and deeply encourage conversation with one another before, after or during our break. Get to know some new faces
Here is the schedule for the meeting:
4pm – Meeting opening
4:05pm – Community organizations/committees progress updates
               (5 minutes for presentation+5 minutes for Q+A)
-BCLT (Affordable housing projects)
-West Marin Housing Group (short term rental restrictions)
-Downtown Park (additions to play area for children)
-Parking Committee (traffic and parking plan)
-Lions Club (our favorite community events are in danger, need help!)
-Commons (what have they been up to, lots of fun stuff!)
5:00pm -Interactive activity
5:05pm – snack break
5:10pm – Community expression
5:25pm –  Supervisor Candidates (5 min. to express goals as supervisor/background+5 min. Q+A)

Grateful Dead Night; third time’s a charm!

gratefulSaturday September 10th 5pm – midnight

Come shake your bones with us at our local community center to an epic show from 7/8/90, Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa. Sing your favorite Dead song at the open mic first, enjoy food and libations as well… shakedown vendors are welcome and encouraged. All proceeds from this event are being given to a family fighting with childhood cancer..Hope to see ya all there

The Bolinas Community Center is getting ready for the annual Labor Day Street Party & BBQ happening September 5th, noon-6pm!
We will have two stages of live dancing music, A Silent
Auction, delicious BBQ foods, homemade desserts, Beer & Wine and a Kids Corner in the Plaza.
Make sure to also look for all those hidden treasures to bring down to our famous White Elephant Silent Auction happening in our Center and ending at 5pm on Labor Day.
Silent Auction Items to be brought to the BCC Thursday 9/1 – Friday 9/2/2016 10am-4pm
There will be Dancing Bo Dogs, Spinning Elephant and Arm & Drumstick T-shirts for sale and you
may of course renew your membership or become a new member at our booth to support your
fabulous Community Center.
For your convenience, we offer parking and a shuttle ride from Mesa Park to Downtown and back.
Parking is $10 per car!! All proceeds benefit the BCC!
EXTRA INFO on the road closure at Wharf & Brighton:
The closure, permitted by The County of, happens from 11am-6:30pm. We ask if you have any shopping or other business to do downtown on Labor Day to do it before the closure, if possible. If someone truly needs to get thru during our closure we will try our best to accommodate them and escort the car thru, thou we highly plea that you consider parking at Mesa Park and taking the shuttle down instead.
