MONDAY

 

Somatic Exercises ~ 9:30 – 10:45 am

Learn a series of gentle focused movements that can be practiced daily to re-educate the body to move freely with ease and flexibility.  Somatic Exercises release habituated pain and chronic discomfort, restores muscle function and renewed awareness in moving through daily life. Pilates Mat Class WORKSHOP  ~ 5:30pm-6:45pm

Taught by Lisa Townsend

In Pilates Mat we consciously address the entire body, opening energy pathways & stimulating the nervous system while increasing range of motion, coordination and functional strength. Through a series of stretching and strengthening exercises attention is placed on breath, balance, injury prevention, lean & flexible muscle tone, centering and moving with efficiency & ease. Take a few deep breaths, create some time & space for your integrated mind & body. Let well being seep in and transform your evening.

CoreContact ~ 6:30pm-7:30pm

Taught by Lisa Townsend, CoreContact is a contemporary dance class for the mind-full body.  Joining mind/body modalities with release based modern dance we begin by warming our bodies with a focus placed on our breath, the body’s alignment, our soft tissue, and bones. This attention established, we will build from simple movement exercises to longer dance phrases.  Phrase material will emphasize: going in and out of the floor with ease, dancing boldly & covering lots of space, taking chances off balance, embodying articulate gestures, & developing musicality within our strong, efficient, and graceful bodies.  Open to teenagers & Adults.  Drop in sliding scale, $12-$16

The F.L.A.G. Ship Program ~ 1:15 PM – 2:30 PM, Bolinas Library, 14 Wharf Rd, Bolinas

The F.L.A.G.ship program, in partnership with Marin County Free Library, offers FREE drop-in bilingual preschool activities for families with children 0 to 5 years old on-board our bus. Stories, songs, games, crafts and other fun Kindergarten-readiness activities engage children and adults together. Information and referrals for family services are always available.

Come & Be “Beautiful at the Ballet”

Fridays 10:30 to Noon (no class the 4th Friday of each month.) Drop-in single class $15, Five classes $60. The class includes Ballet Barre, Stretching, Center Work & Across the Floor.

Dance is a wonderful centerpiece for life. You live it. You breathe it. Ballet develops muscular strength, agility, & co-ordination as well as good posture, poise & grace. The art of ballet is related to the arts of music, sculpture, literature, drama, and design both in its technique and in its ideals of beauty and strength. Ballet, gives a lift to the spirit and is just plain FUN. Wear comfortable workout clothes (not baggy) and ballet shoes. Hair should be away from face and neck. An empowering restorative movement experience inspired by the sacred gifts of my African heritage. I invite you to get into your body and move your energy! We will stretch,strengthen,groove deeply and sweat.  Adults only please!
