Monday 1/12 Town Hall Meeting Duxbury Reef 6:30pm

Town hall meeting happening Monday 1/12 from 6:30-8:00 at the BCC. Come and learn about what’s going on with Duxbury Reef. ” I need to see life ways – and nonliving ways of being as well – coming together. Nonhuman ways of being, like human ones shift historically. For living things, species identities are a place to begin, but they are not enough: ways of being our emergent effects of encounters”. Anna L. Tsing. The fight to Save Duxbury Access is about allowing space for encounter. For a child to touch reef and build a love for nature rooted in reciprocity. For small hands to learn that food is more than an empty exchange. For a person to experience the satisfying crunch of seaweed in their teeth. For fisherman to continue their sustainable practice, reducing barriers to high quality food. Our food systems are not perfect but they can and must involve access to local ecosystem.
