Dia de los Muertos

dia de losSunday November 1st Noon-10pm and Monday November 2nd Noon-10pm, FREE ENTRY

Mirta Guzman will have our BIG alter back!

Serving Pozole, Squash Soup and Hot Chocolate!

You are invited to the celebration of a traditional Latin American holiday that combines pre-Colombian festivals and indigenous traditions with European rituals for honoring the dead. It is celebrated every year at this same time as Halloween and the Christian holy days of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

In homes, families arrange “ofrendas” or altars. Tables are covered with fruit, flowers, vegetables, bread, candy, candles, incense, photos of the deceased, papel picado (paper cut-outs) represent the sky. Marigold petals are sprinkled to create a path for the spirits to follow on their return.

Please feel free to bring photos of those who have passed over, along with mementos and flowers.

The hall will be open for the honoring of “Dia de los Angelitos” (remembering children who have died) on Sunday, Nov 1 from Noon-10pm. The BCC will have Pozole and Mexican chocolate available for purchase in the kitchen.

On Monday Nov. 2, Dia de los Muertos”, the BCC  will be open from noon to 10pm. This day is not a sad time, but one rather of remembering and rejoicing. Musicians are welcome.

Please join us for any or all of the celebration you can.   To volunteer: watch over the altar or bake some sweets for the BCC to sell which will help cover the cost of the altar, please call 868-2128 or email

stillrevoltingSunday September 13th 7:00pm $10-20 sliding scale

Comedian Richard Stockton brings comedy and music of dissent to Bolinas. Proceeds benefit the Bo Center.  Still Revolting After All These Years captures the spirit of the ‘60s using standup comedy, stories, and music on his journey back to rebellion.

“Hilarious! A masterful storyteller driven to re-awaken his inner rebel.” Wallace Baine, Arts & Entertainment Editor, Santa Cruz Sentinel

“Richard Stockton is one of the smartest, funniest and most subversive comics working today. His songs recapture the attitude and the altitude of a forgotten but beloved era.” -Will Durst

End Of Life Choices

endoflifechoicesTuesday August 25th 7:00-8:00pm             Julia Maxwell retired hospice nurse will be sharing choices for the end of life. “Lets take death out of the closet and talk about it. The end of a good life should be a good death. Only 17% die at home compared to 75% of doctors who choose home death. They are not telling us something. Death is industrialized, we can do better!

Magic Wand Workshop

magicwandTuesday August 25th 1pm-4pm

Magic Wand Workshop!

“By revealing my own magic, I invite you to bring forward your own magic. Yes you have your own magic. It’s not as far away as the pages in your favorite children’s story. You know the one, where a child rummages through the attic looking for a beloved toy and finds a mysterious chest. And what lies inside the chest? Magic of course! I want to remind you of that time and how it felt. That incredible feeling that anything is possible. Remember that magic. Remember that world.”

Burningman Slide Show w/ StuArt

Jugville Troubadour 2Friday August 7th, 7:30-9:30pm $5

Bill Braasch and I are leading a group from West Marin to run the Wheel of Self Reflection in the Carnival of Mirrors at Burning Man.

The Carnival is the tented circle that surrounds the big Burning Man statue. Last year it was called the Souk. The Wheel of Self Reflection will be out there in the center of Black Rock Desert like it was set up at the center of Love Field for the Far West Fest.
People are looking for meaning at Burning Man, and the Wheel provides them with exactly that – meaningful coincidence supplied by Synchronicity..
Carl Jung was the first to call meaningful coincidence “Synchronicity,” and Synchronicity is what the Wheel is all about. In addition the charged psychic field at Burning Man dramatically increases the rate of Synchronicity as expressed through the fortunes from the Wheel.

That is the focus of this year’s project at Burning Man – to cultivate Synchronicity using a random generator on a charged psychic field. The Wheel of Self Reflection can become a True Oracle at Burning Man.

On Friday night we’ll show movies and tell stories about the last 2 years at Burning Man. We’ll describe what’s up for this year. The Wheel of Self Reflection will be there for you to spin.
In essence we’re taking Bolinas to Burning Man and we’ll be bringing Burning Man back to Bolinas. Your support, both financially and psychically, will ensure our success.
We’re cultural emissaries from West Marin and we’ll be bringing Burning Man back to you in song and pictures.
You can relax in the lush splendor of West Marin while we undertake a pilgrimage of Art & Synchronicity into the hot, dusty desert of Nevada.
          Thank you kindly, StuArt

What’s Funny After 50?

Whats Funny After 50 hi-res graphicJune 19th Comedy Show 7:00pm    $12 at the door

Dan St. Paul has been chronicling his life on stage for 30 years. After turning fifty, he discovered his body changing (“I’m a cylinder now. I can where a belt anywhere on my body.”), his memory faulty (“I have eight pair of reading glasses and I have no idea where they are.”), and dealing with a teenager more challenging (“I have a bumper sticker that says ‘My Son’s Just Getting By At Hillsdale High’.”).

Instead of moaning about it, he developed it into a show that leaves baby boomers and the senior set rolling in the aisles. Dan has been a national headlining comedian at some of the top comedy clubs in the country. He has appeared on NBC, ABC, FOX, Comedy Central, A&E, and VH-1. Dan has also opened for such celebrities as Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Ringo Starr, Natalie Cole, Hall and Oates, Vince Gill, Clint Black, and even the San Francisco Symphony (“I knew them when they were just a garage band.”) His “The First Baseball Game” is one of the most requested comedy pieces on the syndicated Bob and Tom Radio Show.

Sunday, May 31st 9:00am $51.99

A perfectly timed escape. A getaway without getting too far away. A few hours outside of the city to reconnect to what’s important.

We’ll start the day with a group hike or trail run close to Bolinas. Any one is welcome, whether a runner or not. I will have several different options for lengths and speeds so that everyone feels comfortable. We will stay together as much as possible.

After the run, we will head into Bolinas. There will be time to rest and have a snack and then we will have an hour long yoga class. You can expect the class to be challenging but relaxing. A blend of vinyasa flow with some restorative poses, class will be designed especially with runners in mind. We’ll breath, we’ll sweat, we’ll move; that’s what this day is all about.

We will end our day with a deliciously prepared vegetarian lunch. After that you will have the chance to explore Bolinas on your own time. It’s a very special place.

The entire day is open to all levels of yogis and runners!
